  1. We are thankful for your blog. It is good to hear of your progress and it turns our thoughts and prayers to you Sister Abarca. Over the past nine or so years, we have come to love your family. We found Dr. Abarca several months before he was made Stake President. Wonderful family doctor, in fact the best.
We love your story of his conversion and know what a blessing it is to our very lives. You both have shared your testimonies through your service and it has strengthened ours. We love you. Thank you Sister Abarca for your Christ felt disposition, for your courage and for your example. You continue to bless others. Our prayers are with you and your dear family. Ron and Cherrie Staley

  4. Dear Nanette~ Your Mom Katie told me about your blog, since I haven't seen any of you guys in a long time! I just love the photo of you all on your blog page- - what a beautiful family you have. Over the years since you moved to Utah, I have thought of you all often, & wondered how the kids would look as they grow up. Wow!
Please know that I send my love & am very pleased to hear how well you're doing w/ your treatments. Not fun, I know, but I also know you're a very strong woman w/ tremendous faith & family. I'm sending you all the positive California vibes I've got! Take good care - - - Sue Joachim, aka Mrs. Greg Fournier

  5. Nanette - I have been hesitant to comment because no one has so I am very glad to know that comments are welcome. I read your blog every night before I go to bed to see if there is an update. Your mom is doing a great job keeping everyone informed. I am glad to hear you are tolerating the treatments but sorry to hear you have a headache. You are in my daily thoughts and especially my prayers. You are an inspiration to us all. I don't know if I could be this strong and courageous. Truly you are touching the lives of everyone that knows you and your family.... and what an amazing example of faith you are to your children. You have such a beautiful family. I had no idea your sweet hubby was Stake President. I'd love to one day hear his conversion story. Take care and know that we are thinking of you and praying for you and your family. Love, Kathee and Bill Preston

  8. Family and Friends, I can never thank you enough for all the kind words, cards and love you have shown me and my family. I would try to respond individually, but right now I can't read my own writing! I do believe in miracles too so i think I'm in pretty good shape considering all the prayers on my behalf. I am so lucky and so grateful. You know when Kaylen passed away I prayed that if my family had another challenge because we do face them because we learn so many valuable eternal lessons that I prayed it would be me that could go through not one of my children or my husband and that i could have a fighting chance and thats exactly what happened so I'm at peace. I have been given amazing blessings and I know the Lord answers prayers so its all going to be OK, but again I can't thank you enough for all your love, prayers and support. Love to you all, Nanette

  10. Sister Abarca,
Just wanted to let you know that the kids and I have been following your blog as well, and am so thankful for it. The family picture is so cute! :) Madeline's been thinking of you and hopes you will get well soon. I asked the kids to remember you and your family in our prayers when we first heard you were sick. Kaden has been praying for you nearly every prayer he's said ever since then. However, he does struggle with pronouncing your last name, so it comes out a little interesting sometimes! :) I so enjoyed being in your marriage class, and tried to soak up every word. You really got through to me, and gave me a lot to think about. You are such a great example. I especially loved the cute stories about your relationship with President Abarca. When you spoke in testimony meeting recently, you touched my heart and inspired me and gave me much to think about. I believe in miracles too, and we keep hoping and praying that all will be well for you and your family. Thank you for being you! Love, Heather, Madeline, Christian, Kaden, and Katelyn Shepard

  11. Nanette, I met you a few years ago when you and your mother were going to Curves. Your mother's home teacher and wife are our close friends. They called me a couple of days after you were admitted to the hospital. (I was at Cabella's and I am sure people thought I was strange sitting on the bench crying on the phone. LOL) Your husband has been our doctor for a little over nine years. He told us when he was called as Stake President; when you daughter passed; when your son went on his mission. He has comforted me with his "words of wisdom" when my granddaughter passed three years ago. Honestly, he has touched our lives in many, many ways. I was so blessed to be given your blog address and I read it daily to keep up with you, your treatments and your family. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family. Miracles are happening everyday and you are one of them. We are here if you need us. Peggy and Marty Estrada

  12. Hi! My name is Jessie Hunter. I don't think that we've ever been formally introduced. I am in the Stockton 2nd ward. My family is living in West Point, New York for the next couple of years while my husband teaches Statistics at the Academy. My sister, Sarah Blodgett is in Little Mountain ward. She is also a patient of Dr. Abarca's. My sister, Shari Kurtz, and her family live in Grantsville and are also patients of President Abarca's. I have also been a patient of President Abarca's, but, in the spiritual sense:) I have loved to listen to his testimony and stories during Stake Conference. They have helped to heal my heart many times. I am very good friends with Alycia Hogan and she has told me about her visit with you. She expressed that when she and Jon went to visit you they were hoping to bring you some comfort and to be of help. But, she left feeling that you were the one who uplifted and comforted them. I have loved and prayed for your family for many years and will continue to do so. Thank you for your example of faith and courage. Love always, Jessie Hunter
